As we all know Seafarer Profile Registration on Dg shipping website is
mandatory for all Indian Seafarers. Even if you are not interested making a
profile, your company whom you are serving will force you to make one or else
they'll not give you vessel for joining.
Many of us have made our seafarer profile with no issues, yes there have
been few like website not opening, website opens on Internet Explorer only,
Server not found for weeks. But still this isn't the problem that i am talking
about.
There are many problem people are facing regarding their seafarer profile
corrections stated as follow:-
(Do not go to Dg shipping office as they don't deal with seafarer profile
correction Shipping Master Office does initially and then they forward your application
to the dg shipping.)
(1) Before Registration if there is any Discrepancies in your Name, DOB,
Identification mark, Place of Birth, Nationality on first page which opens up
after entering Indos no. and DOB, you have to send email at "egovernance-dgs@nic.in" and I am sure you won't get any reply even
though you will not get reply please email on this address, wondering WHY?? I
'll answer that below.
(2) If Your profile is already made and there is correction to be made in
your profile you have to go to Shipping Masters Office (which is opposite MMD
Mumbai) and ask for seafarer profile correction form at the reception, fill it
up stating your query and attach photocopy Passport, CDC, Indos Checker and CDC
Checker and submit it on reception.
This correction is done by Mr.Meet over there, so do follow up frequently
after submitting your form because he is very lazy and will not correct until
you follow him up 3-4 times atleast.
Hopefully your correction would be done early, if you wont follow every 2-3
days it could take a month or months.
(3) Once your correction application is forwarded by the shipping master's
office you will get a copy of the same via post(on address mentioned on your
CDC). Most probably correction is done within a week, if not follow up at
dgshipping office to Mr. Atul explain him your query he'll guide you in the
matter very well.
Excuses made by Shipping Masters Office Clerks:-
(i) Did you e-mail for the discrepancy to dg shipping?
If you answer No, they will tell you to do so and send you off.
(ii) After sending mail you follow up after 1 week and tell them correction
not yet done or I did not receive any email from dgshipping they will again
tell you to wait few days or weeks more... this is just to shrug off their work
load.
You will waste your ample of precious time if you do not email dgshipping
which is of no use b'cause no reply for weeks and months.
